LIFE & TIMES OF THE RENOWNED SIKH WARRIOR
(1617-1716)
In this 360 video experience, we venture back to 17th century India, to the life and times of renowned Sikh warrior, Banda Singh Bahadur. At at time when forcible conversion to Islam was a matter of State policy, this small group of individuals, asserted their sovereignty and fought for the oppressed. Their efforts and sacrifices culminated in the downfall of the Mughal empire in India. A people who had been long oppressed, were inspired once again to stand up for their rights.
This year, June 6, 2016 marked the 300th Martyrdom Anniversary of Banda Singh Bahadur, a man who lived his life on the edge of the sword. Let's take a few minutes to learn about the history, contributions and message of this celebrated personality. We hope you like it!
This project would not have been possible without the support of the Chappar Chiri War Memorial, Virasat-e-Khalsa Museum, Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee and Department of Cultural Affairs, Punjab. Thank you for enabling this experience to share and celebrate our beautiful history with this new medium.
