Cross-Industry Virtual Reality Experience

Overview: Cross-platform VR/AR experience to give clients and practitioners a taste of the next big computing platform through the exploration of industry-specific use cases. Powered by the Oculus Rift DK2, Leap Motion, Unity3D and stereo 360 video. Abridged version for mobile delivered as a Google Cardboard app with pass-through functionality.

Concept Video for Enterprise AR Smartglass Solution targeting Field Services

Multi-device, smartglass solution that provides field service workers hands-free access to contextual, real-time information. Built on Android and the APX Labs Skylight platform.

Role: Concept Video Design, Production, Post-production (and a little acting) 
• Led planning and execution of product demo presented at Global Analyst Summit ’14.
• Responsible for planning, shooting, editing, post-production and narration of ‘A Day in the Life’ and product video for the AR platform
• Executed complex 3D motion tracking of head-mounted POV footage to create an immersive Augmented Reality experience demonstrating the capabilities of AR platform
• Collaborated with tech, studio and management functions under rapidly changing conditions to create desired output in timely manner
• Deliverables produced: demo-plan, two-column script, storyboard, visual mockups, VFX composites, final demo videos

Interactive Media Wall - IoT Updates

Revamp of Client interactive media wall to enable ibeacon authentication, live-stream of a drone feed in 720p, playback of 360 degree videos in 4K, an interactive 3D map of our campus and the ability to serve client specific content during a tour. Augmented Reality Chief Experience built on APX Labs Skylight, allowing clients to obtain a first-person perspective tour of our gourmet meals from kitchen to plate.

Role: Design Lead, Vendor Management, 3D Modeling

  • Served as overall Design Lead, responsible for conceptualization, 2D/3D design, development and scope management of a variety of experiences involving nascent/alpha technologies.
  • Closely coordinated Unity C# developer, level designer, as well as liaising with Client Brand and external vendors to ensure optimal output in a challenging timeframe.
  • Planned, coordinated and executed complex 360 degree stereoscopic video shoot of the Client campus involving outdoor aerial drone capture as well as live indoor events with 360 vendor. 
  • Created and executed post-production workflow for manipulating equirectangular 360 degree video using existing 3D/VFX tools. Enabled us to use 360 videos to showcase Augmented Reality use-cases by adding dynamic overlays in the user’s field of view.
  • Optimized Revit 3D model of Client campus from 300K+ to 70K+ vertices using Maya.
  • Deloitte leadership appreciated the accomplishments of these goals. Given "Outstanding Performance Award" for commitment and quality output.

Tour guide uses smartphone and iBeacon-powered proximity check-in to activate the presenter view on the media wall for the client.

Once the drone has been positioned for take off, the presenter can start or stop the feed with a single tap. They can also quickly choose the client who is being toured in order to pull up customized content.

Product Design and Solution Development for Analytics-Driven Decision Making Platform

ROLE: Product Designer; 5 months.

Product Description: a purposeful, customizable modeling tool that enables optimized decision-making. Customized for sectors and industries, DP helps organizations unlock and drive value by ensuring critical decisions are made at the right time, by the right person, equipped with the right analytics.

• Worked closely with S&O team to flesh out initial concept and articulate product vision through a clickable prototype, facilitating Gate 2 funding
• Conduct user research, create target personas, build scope catalog and outline front-end technical requirements
• Create visual designs, supporting assets and design specs for version 1 and work closely with font-end development team to ensure quality end product.

UI Reskin and Landing Page Design for Large Pacific-Northwest State

Role: UI/UX Lead, Functional Consultant; 5 months

Client: Integrated Eligibility Exchange for a large state in the Pacific-Northwest.
Objective: Tasked with reskinning a .NET transfer solution and redesigning the solution landing page. An interesting design challenge, in a challenging time-frame, given the ask of introducing the minimal amount of UI rework needed to have maximal impact, while ensuring compliance with the State's brand.


• Served as the SME and point of contact for User Experience. Planned and led large client workshops and more intimate breakout sessions. Owned visual design and deliverable creation. Incorporated client needs/feedback and iteratively reached agreement on changes acceptable to both parties.
• Created a responsive document upload screen, enabling applicants to easily respond to RFI requests using their smartphone, while adding minimal development overhead.
• Guided USI development team in implementation of designs. Defined HTML and CSS changes that would be achievable in production by the SI practice.
• Accomplished goals to great appreciation by Deloitte and State leadership. Given Deloitte Applause Award for commitment and quality output.

CMO App for Large U.S. Telecom Company

Client: large u.s. telecom company specializing in cellular and wireless services

Role: Visual Designer

Project Goal: Create a POC for a CMO Marketing App that provides a dramatically improved user experience, built on top of SAP CRM, delivered as a responsive web app optimized for tablets and smartphones.

• Lead UI/UX designer for the project, developed visuals from concept to launch in a rapid prototyping environment.
• Created key VD deliverables: wireframes, high-fidelity mockups, clickable prototypes, supporting visual/CSS assets and design specs.
• Worked with Business Experience Designer (BxD) in making critical UX decisions, persona development, maintenance of scope catalog, facilitating user interviews and visual/functional design review sessions with stakeholders.
• USI Experience: Coordinated off-shore front-end development team to ensure consistent UI/UX and served as on-site liaison for off-shore CRM integration team
